Relationship shoot at St Austell's Gills and Geckos

I was sure of one thing I wanted one of my relationship shoots to be slightly obscure, it was clear at crit that when people thought of a relationship between a pet and its owner/handler they automatically thought of a dog or a cat, no one had seemed to venture into the land of the unknown or the exotic. I started looking into large birds and their handlers but due to the weather I have been unable to get around to shooting them yet, so I decided to look into the pets that we deem 'creepy crawlies' and came across St Austell's Gills and Geckos.

Greeted by Dave and Mike I was introduced to the crew and allowed access to various different reptiles, however they were reluctant to let me loose with the tarantula.

24hr Project: London: A city that never sleeps

Dear London; When I  grow up I want to be............

Within the city that never sleeps I have chosen to look at the hotel service men and women that open doors, call  taxis, carry luggage or even just greet the customers, similar to my answer to the Plymouth project I will be creating a typology of hotel doormen, however the difference is this project will have an extra link, not only do they all share the same occupation I will ask them all the exact same question and then take their picture Incorporating their answer.

I was thinking a lot about the question, should it be something directly related to their job? Or something completely obscure? however the more I thought about it, the more  I wondered do you ever here of a child who wants to be a hotel doormen?  Although I'm sure its a great honour to hold the door for, or park the car for the rich and famous I can't imagine it's what they have always wanted to do!

The whole idea also fits in with the fact that London or 'The city that never sleeps'  is a massive place where the  young (and old) flock to pursue their dreams however many never quiet achieve their goals  and end up with slightly more ordinary jobs.

No Anorexia No Lita: My Essay Proposal

No Lita health campaign Oliviero Toscani

For my Pep 150 module, 2000 word essay examining the Social/Political and Historical context of one particular Image I have chosen to examine Toscani’s campaign entitled ‘No Anorexia No Lita’ the image offers huge scope when it comes to looking at the Social/political background as it not only cause huge disruptions throughout Milan Fashion week but also towards how both the media and fashion industry portray the fragile state of beauty.
