Assignment
Title: The Portrait Element
The Brief:
The
observed,
formal, detail and environmental portrait are vital components to the editorial portrait. By
making specific pictures for each element the viewer gains a deeper
understanding of the people being profiled. Your task is to make two compelling portrait profiles of one woman
and one man, using ALL the four elements mentioned. The range of images that
will be made throughout a successful portrait shoot will reflect the many
different facets of the ‘Portrait’
The
subject matter is entirely up to you, but you will need to research and arrange
the shoot and make sure you can go back more than once as we require an ongoing
study of these people in order to refine the content of a successful image.
Man
I knew from the beginning that I wanted to shoot a Pantomime Dame for the male portrait and I couldn't have found a better dame in Jeffrey Holland.
